What I do
I start with what’s already in the building. Before a firm can sensibly decide anything bigger, someone has to see how the work actually moves through it — and that on its own usually turns up things worth fixing the same day.
That’s the last mile: the gap between the software a firm has already paid for and the work it actually saves. I go after the low-hanging fruit first, the highest impact for the least disruption. Often it’s a template, a setting someone never turned on, or four hours of showing people what the tool already in front of them can do.
- Half a day
- A coffee first — half an hour to hear what slows the firm down. Then three hours at a desk in your office fixing whatever anyone brings me: Word, Outlook, PDFs, formatting, the things nobody logs a ticket for. I don’t charge for working out what to offer you. The half day is how I find out whether there’s a job here worth quoting — and you keep the fixes either way.
- Five days
- The full audit, and where the real work happens. A written process map with time estimates, costed automation candidates, and training built from what I saw in your office that week.
- After that
- If the audit turns up something worth building, we scope and price it separately. Some firms stop at the report and act on it themselves. That’s a good outcome too.
The first session stands on its own. Whether anything follows is a decision you make after it, not before.
Where this comes from
Machine learning, then law.
Three years as an ML engineer at Bosch — 3D object detection from ultrasonic sensors, graph neural networks for autonomous driving. Alongside it, seven years of law study in Budapest. Coursework complete, final exam outstanding. I’m not admitted in Australia and I’m not seeking admission — the degree is domain fluency, not a licence.
In the room where the standards get written.
Bosch delegated me to the ISO 24970 working group — the standard for logging what an AI system did, so its behaviour can be reconstructed afterwards.
Three months at a desk in a law firm.
I spent three months embedded at a Budapest boutique firm doing exactly this — daily observation, daily recommendations, and by the end I was the associates’ first call for anything that touched a computer.
The five-day audit is that same method, compressed, with something written at the end of it.
How I work
Fixed scope, fixed fee, agreed before I start.
No hourly billing. You know the number and the end date before day one.
No commissions, ever.
I’m not a reseller and I take nothing from any vendor. Independence is the whole product, so I’m paid by firms and only by firms.
Enterprise, not shadow.
Your people are probably already using these tools. The move isn’t to stop them — it’s to give them a governed firm account instead of a personal one. That jump is large, cheap, and the only one most firms need.
